V Is for Victory—and Viagra

It’s known around the world: Viagra. This medication, which bears the generic name “sildenafil,” was introduced in 1998. Since then it has helped millions of men address their erectile dysfunction, regain their sexual confidence, and generally improve their quality of life.

How Viagra works

In a nutshell, Viagra relaxes the muscle cells in the blood vessels in the penis, which in turn allows more blood flow. And erections depend on blood flow for successful achievement and sustainability.

It helps men achieve erections, but doesn’t cause erections. Sexual stimulation is still necessary to initiate the processes that ultimately lead to an erection. Also note that Viagra doesn’t increase sexual desire or arousal.

As one of the ed medications in Arkansas, Viagra generally takes around 30 to 60 minutes to achieve full effect, and depending on the individual that effect can last up to five hours.

Possible Side Effects

Viagra/sildenafil works well overall. However, like any prescription medication, the possibility of side effects exists. The most common side effects include:

  • Dizziness
  • Headache
  • Flushing of the skin
  • Indigestion
  • Nasal congestion

Rarely, priapism may occur. This is a prolonged and painful erection lasting more than four hours. There may also be sudden vision or hearing loss, and in a very few cases an allergic reaction to Viagra.

It is crucial to consult a healthcare professional like the ones at The Edge before taking Viagra.

You might want to try Trimix

Trimix is an injectable medication usually recommended for ED treatment when other avenues don’t or can’t work. Trimix consists of three medications in one: alprostadil, phentolamine, and papaverine.

Working in concert, this combination of ED medications in Arkansas can:

  • Improve penile blood flow
  • Work quickly (in 5 to 15 minutes)
  • Promote a successful erection.

Administering Trimix Before Sex

When preparing for sexual activity, the male patient or his partner uses a fine needle to inject the correct dose of Trimix directly into the erectile tissue of the penis. The Trimix medication combination works synergistically to bring on an erection.

The 3 drugs that make up Trimix function as follows.

Primary Drug: Alprostadil

Relaxes the smooth muscles in the walls of penile blood vessels, allowing them to widen and increase blood flow.

Secondary Drug: Phentolamine

Phentolamine blocks the action of alpha receptors on the smooth muscle cells, adding to the relaxing effect that Alprostadil has on penile blood vessels.

Tertiary Drug: Papaverine

Papaverine helps maintain the relaxation of smooth muscles, thereby improving blood flow.

Medical Supervision Only

You really need to be sure to have medical supervision for your Trimix usage. An incorrect dosage or administration can lead to some “hard” complications. Each dosage of Trimix is tailored to the patient’s specific needs as determined by the severity of the ED, the patient’s health, and the monitored response to the medication.

Possible Trimix Side Effects

Because Trimix is both powerful and effective, some men may require another medication to reverse its effects. Should the erection last beyond recommended time, the patient may need to inject phenylephrine into the penis to constrict blood vessels and reduce blood flow, thereby ending the erection.

Other side effects may include:

  • Penile pain
  • Aching
  • Priapism
